Dallas Mavericks star big man Anthony Davis left Wednesday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers in the first quarter with what the team called soreness in his lower left leg.
The Mavericks officially ruled him out at halftime of their narrow 107-105 victory. Davis appeared to be in discomfort after scoring on a play, signaling to the bench that he needed to come out. During a timeout with just over four minutes left in the opening quarter, he briefly crouched near the sideline before heading to the locker room for evaluation.
“He tried to give it a go, but we didn’t want to take any risks,” coach Jason Kidd said after the game. “We’ll see how he’s feeling in the coming days.”
