Two-way guard from New York commits to Oregon State women’s basketball

Maggie Warpus announced her commitment to the Beavers on Sunday. Warpus, a 6-0 guard/forward, hails from Chenango Forks High School near Binghamton, New York.

Warpus was named the Class B player of the year in the state of New York last season, showcasing her abilities as a defender, scorer and playmaker.

Her size and aggression in rebounding the ball are evident on tape, along with a quick first step in driving to the basket and soft touch from three and mid-range. Turnaround jumpers and spin moves out of the post seem to be a favorite, along with the occasional euro-step through the lane.
