DeVries leads the way as Indiana beats Marquette in Chicago

Tucker DeVries and Lamar Wilkerson fueled Indiana’s dominant 100–77 victory over Marquette on Sunday afternoon at the United Center. DeVries exploded for 24 of his 27 points in the first half, torching the defense with five 3-pointers and shooting 8-for-12 overall. Wilkerson then took over after halftime, scoring 15 of his 23 points in the second half while also hitting five 3s. Indiana’s bench provided a major boost as well, with Trent Sisley and Sam Alexis contributing 15 and 13 points, respectively. The Hoosiers (2–0) were efficient across the board, shooting 50% from both the field and three-point range (14-for-28) and converting 20 of 24 free throws.

After Marquette held a brief two-point lead midway through the first half, Indiana broke the game open with three separate 8-0 runs to take control. A half-court buzzer-beater from Conor Enright extended the Hoosiers’ lead to 56–38 at halftime. Marquette made a push early in the second half, trimming the deficit to 10 behind Royce Parham and Zaide Lowery, but DeVries and Wilkerson quickly answered. Wilkerson drilled three 3-pointers during a decisive stretch that pushed Indiana’s advantage to 20 points with just over eight minutes remaining, sealing the blowout win.

Chase Ross led the Golden Eagles (2–1) with 19 points, though he struggled from the field, shooting just 4-for-13. Nigel James added 16 points and Parham chipped in 11, as Marquette shot only 37% overall and 25% from deep (4-for-16). The Golden Eagles, who had not surrendered 90 points in a game last season, gave up 100 for the first time since a double-overtime loss to Providence in December 2022. Indiana now heads home for a five-game homestand starting Wednesday against Milwaukee, while Marquette begins a four-game home stretch the same day versus Little Rock.
